By road: From Hanoi, the journey to Thanh Hoa takes about 2.5 to 3 hours via the modern National Highway 1A or the Hanoi–Ninh Binh–Thanh Hoa Expressway. Limousine buses and coaches operate frequently between Hanoi and Thanh Hoa City, as well as other towns in the province.
By rail: The North–South Railway stops at Thanh Hoa Station, with daily trains from Hanoi, Da Nang, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City. The ride from Hanoi takes approximately 3.5 hours, offering a comfortable and scenic journey.
By air: Tho Xuan Airport (THD), located around 45 km from Thanh Hoa City, connects the province to major cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Da Lat with regular domestic flights. From the airport, taxis and shuttle services are readily available.
Local transport: Within Thanh Hoa, taxis, ride-hailing services, and private transfers provide easy access to beaches, historical sites, and nature reserves.
