In the morning, meet with our guide and begin your exploration of the Imperial City of Hue. Located on the northern bank of the Perfume River, the Hue Citadel was built by Emperor Gia Long and designed exclusively for the Emperor and his household. This 2-kilometer square complex encompasses three walled enclosures: the Citadel (Kinh Thanh Hue), the Yellow Imperial City (Hoang Thanh), and at its center, the Forbidden Purple City (Tu Cam Thanh), where the Emperor resided.
